In a first round tie on Sunday Betty Smith and Isa Robertson defeated Alice Brown and Fay Chalmers.
Kathleen Lyons and Anne Couper were given a bye to the second round.
In a second round tie Elizabeth Nelson and Marion Arthur defeated Liz Lees and Pat Milligan.
