Death of County Member

It is with much sadness that I announce the death on Sunday of Nancy McCall, Strathaven . Nancy was a member of the county since 1993 and regularly competed in competitions and attended all social events while her health allowed.
Nancy was a very friendly lady and was well liked by those who knew her.
Our thoughts are with her son Hamish, daughter Lisbeth, daughter in law Agnes, son in law Joe and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday 19th November at 1.00pm in Avondale Old Parish Church, Kirk Street Strathaven, and thereafter to Strathaven Cemetery.

Sunshine and Showers for Autumn Meeting

30 members competed in the Autumn Meeting at Hamilton CG yesterday. The course held up well in spite of all the recent rain.
The winners were Heather Stewart and Maj Stewart, Hamilton , with Anne Lloyd and Pat Casey runner up.

Closure of a Lanarkshire Golf Club

Very sad that Mount Ellen Golf Club closed its doors for the last time on Sunday. This is a venue that LLCGA have often used for fixtures and will be missed in future.
It will, however, be most upsetting for their members. Hopefully they will soon find other clubs and continue to enjoy the game of golf.

Pamela returns to European Tour

Pamela Pretswell Asher played her first competitive game in 18 months following the birth of her daughter, Kirsty. She is thoroughly enjoying motherhood but has much less time to practice and has less sleep..
She played in the Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club this week. She started well with rounds of 69 and 71 to easily make the cut. In the awful weather conditions of the last two days she finished 74, 80.
Nice to see her back.
