Many thanks to South Lanarkshire Council for the above photographs.

The Civic Reception given by South Lanarkshire Council to mark the Centenary of LLCGA was much enjoyed by those members who attended. We were made most welcome by Provost Russell Clearie , the councilors and council staff. Following an excellent meal with good wine Provost Clearie gave a short speech then presented LLCGA Officials with small gifts and our Association with a very nice suitably engraved crystal rose bowl . Captain May Hughes gave an outline of the events of our Centenary year and thanked South Lanarkshire Council for their hospitality and generosity. Honorary President Margo Bauer then presented Provost Clearie with a small gift from LLCGA. Thanks must go to Margaret Armstrong, Administration Officer of SLC for organising the evening.

A good time was had by all as the slide show below shows. If you wish to hear the music make sure your speakers are switched on. Please note the photographer is in the pictures this time.

Captain wins final competition of the season

May Hughes-click to enlarge
May Hughes won the scratch and silver handicap with a 75 (net 70) in the September Spoon played at a warm and sunny Lanark Golf Club today. May's plan for next year, having completed her captaincy, is to concentrate on reducing her handicap but it seems that on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel she has decided to start early and reduced it by 1 today.
The Bronze handicap and scratch was won by Pam Rice with a 104(net 83).

Leading scores: SS: 74; CSS: 76
Silver:
May Hughes 75-5= 70
Moray Meechan 80-6 = 74
Jean Allan 94-19=75
Pat Milligan 85-9= 76

Bronze:
Pam Rice 104-21=83
Ann Robertson 112-23=89

We have been very fortunate to have been able to play all our summer competitions on schedule. Let's hope the weather is good for our winter competition. Remember that entries for the Winter Foursomes have to be with Angela Devine by 1st October.
