Congratulations Lesley and Joan

Well done Lesley Lloyd in finishing Runner up in the Scottish Senior Women’s Golf association West Division Championship at Renfrew Golf Club today.
Congratulations also to Joan Anderson in Winning the Stewart Trophy.

Conditions less pleasant for second round of Senior Women’s championship

At Edzell golf club today the morning was cold and damp while the afternoon was cold and wet.
Lesley Lloyd finished with a total of 162 (80, 82) tied in 16th place but unfortunately failed to qualify   among the 16 qualifiers for the match play due to having a poorer last round. 
Fiona Scott finished with a total of 166 (82, 84) tied 28 but has qualified for the net championship
May Hughes had a very good last round today to finish with a total of  163 (86, 77) tied 19. May, however, had a handicap total of  149 (79, 70) and has qualified in 1st place for the Net Match play. Well done May and Fiona. We wish you all the best tomorrow.

Lesley Lloyd is playing in the Scottish Team at the Senior Home Internationals at Alyth Golf Club from Tuesday to Thursday of next week. We wish Lesley and her team mates all the best for a successful tournament.

Scotland finish 12th

Scotland finished in 12th place in the European Senior Ladies Team Championship after losing 3-2 to Austria.
Alex Glennie and Mary Smith lost to Angelika Zeiser and Elisabeth Jenull 1 hole

It's a win for Scotland

Today Scotland beat Czech Republic 4-1 in Flight B of the Senior Ladies Team Championship and will play Italy in the semi final tomorrow.

Scotland qualify in 10th place

Scotland qualified in 10th place in the European Senior Ladies Team Championship in Poland today and so qualify for the second flight where they will play the Czech Republic tomorrow.
Lesley Lloyd was joint top Scottish player in the qualifying strokeplay rounds with Fiona De Vries with a total of 181 after rounds of 85 and 76.

Lesley selected for Scottish Vets Team for Jamboree

 Congratulations to Lesley Lloyd who has been selected for the Scottish Team for  the Veteran Ladies Golf Association Jamboree to be held at Sherwood Forest Golf Club, Nottingham from 4th - 6th August.

Lesley selected for Scottish Vets

Congratulations to Lesley Lloyd on her selection for the Scottish Vets in the match against the Irish Seniors for the Mary McKenna Perpetual Trophy  on 19th and 20th April at Dunbar Golf Club.
May Hughes is a reserve for the match.

Lesley and May compete for Scottish Vets

On Sunday Lesley Lloyd and May Hughes competed in a Scottish Vets Practice Match against Aberdeenshire County Team at Murcar Golf Club.
Lesley partnering Lorna Bennett and May partnered by Alison Bartlett won their matches resulting in the match being halved 2-2. Well done ladies.

May and Pat qualify for West Vets Championship

Following the Qualifying round at Whitecraigs today Pat Hutton has qualified in second place and May Hughes in fourth for the West of Scotland Vets Championship at Renfrew GC on 2nd and 3rd June.

May loses in final of Scottish Vets Championship

May was defeated 2 and 1 by Karen Ballantyne, Craigmillar Park, after a very good semi final win by 6 and 5 over the Scottish Seniors Matchplay Champion, Fiona De Vries, today in the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association championship over the Lansdowne course at Blairgowrie.
In the final Karen birdieid the first, third and ninth in establishing a three-hole lead at the turn. They exchanged the 11th and 12th holes before May cut her deficit to two holes with two to play by winning the 16th.
A half at the next ended a match in which both players demonstrated their short-game expertise.
The SVLA championship is contested every year at Blairgowrie by the eight winners of the veterans' divisional championships.

May Hughes (West) bt Fiona De Vries (Midland) 6 and 5.

May through to semi finals

May Hughes is through to Monday morning's semi-finals of the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association championship for the Scroggie Cup at Blairgowrie. In today's quarter-finals, she beat Lynne Terry (Cruden Bay)6 and 4.
Also through to the last four are Fiona De Vries who defeated Pearl Beattie (Dumfries) 7 and 6, Anne Ryan (Tain), who beat Liz Campbell (Torwoodlee) 2 and 1, and Karen Ballantyne (Craigmillar Park), a 3 and 2 winner against Jean Brydson (Galloway).

Tomorrow May plays Fiona De Vries while Anne Ryan plays Karen ballantyne.

Second Round of British Seniors completed after a 2 hours 15 minutes delay

The winds at West Kilbride were even worse today. The balls were being blown off the greens causing the start of the second round being delayed until 10.15am.
The top 40 from today go on to play the final 18 holes tomorrow. May Hughes finished in joint 39th place after a two round total of 173 (83,90). Janice Paterson with a total of 174 (89,85) was unfortunate to miss the cut by 1 stroke.
The leader Maureen Richmond (Sco), Royal Liverpool, is on 158 (78,80).

Very Stormy conditions at British Seniors Open

May Hughes and Janice Paterson are competing this week in the 54 hole British Seniors Open at West Kilbride. In gale force winds and heavy showers today May scored 83 and Janice 89. The joint leaders scored 78.

May wins West Vets Championship

Congratulations to May Hughes who defeated
Alex Glennie in a close match at Renfrew Golf Club today in the final of the West Vets Championship. It was all square after 17 but May ,after only just managing to find her tee shot in time, won the 18th.
May has been selected for the Scottish Vets Team for the Jamboree in Cumbria.

May has reached final of West Vets Championship

The Matchplay stages of the West Vets Championships were played today over Renfrew Golf Club in yet again "Wet conditions".
Top seed May Hughes continued her good run of form with wins against Suzanne Cadden (6&5) and the 2009 Champion Helen Faulds (4&3) to reach the final against Alex Glennie.

Janice finishes joint 20th in Spain



Janice Paterson finished joint 20th in the Spanish Seniors Open Amateur Championship in Cadiz and with her partner Barbara Biggart finished 16th in the pairs competition.
