The following team will compete for Lanarkshire in the West Inter County Matches at Williamwood GC from 12 to 14 June.

Megan reaches semi final of Scottish Women's Championship

Megan Docherty played in the Scottish Women's  Championship at Ladybank GC this weekend. She narrowly qualified for the Championship on Friday with rounds of 82, 73. In the first round of matchplay she beat the leading qualifier, Lorna McClymont, 2&1 and Penelope Brown 3&2 in the quarter final to reach the semi final where she lost to the eventual champion Carmen Griffiths  who was in excellent form throughout the competition.

Ruth Retains West Vets Championship

 Many congratulations to Ruth Hunter who on Thursday at Renfrew Golf Club won the West Vets Championship for a second year in a row.

It was a closely fought final with Ruth beating Gillian Kyle with the last putt on the last green. 

Good weather for first Spoon competition.

 Congratulations to vice captain Deirdre Anderson, Dullatur, on winning the May Spoon division one with a net 68 at Easter Moffat yesterday and to scratch winner Fiona Norris, Hamilton, with a gross 78.

Also well done to division two  net  and scratch winner Kay Lilburn, Hayston, with 103 (31)  72.

Lovely summer's day produced good scoring at West of Scotland Ladies Championship

 Many congratulations to Susan Woodhouse winner of the West of Scotland Golf Association Championship at Milngavie Golf Club yesterday with a gross 72.

  Three players scored 73. After count back the order was runner up Jennifer Rankine (Renfrewshire)

3rd Ruth Hunter, and 4th Fiona Rattray( D&A)

Lori Macdonald (D&A) won the Handicap Salver with a net 70.

The Lanarkshire senior team of Susan Woodhouse, Ruth Hunter and Eva O'Connor won the Senior Team Trophy.

The Lanarkshire Junior Team of Neve Marshall and Ellie McManus won the Junior Team Salver.

Championship Final was of a high standard

Yesterday's Championship final was very closely fought and the golf was very good to watch.

Susan Woodhouse  made a good start with birdies at the 1st, 3rd and 4th holes to go 3 up. Kirsten Brown then fought back with birdies  at 6,7,9,10 and 11 and went 1 up at 12. Susan who also birdied hole 7 then won 13 and 15 with a par and a birdie to go 1 up and halved the remaining holes to win at 18.

Bronze Championship Final

 In yesterday's well fought yet friendly Bronze Championship Final between Anne Armstrong, Hayston, and Ann Houston, Cambuslang, Anne Armstrong was the winner of the Bronze Lady Trophy.

 Yesterday morning in the Championship semi finals Susan Woodhouse beat Ruth Rankin 1 up in a tight contest in which Ruth had an albatross at the par 5 14th hole.

Kirsten Brown beat Leah Bryce 5/4.
