England win Senior Home Internationals
In the combined Senior Women and Men's Home Internationals at West Kilbride Golf Club Scotland finished third, They beat Wales but lost to England and Ireland. England finished first and Ireland second.
In all 3 matches Ruth Hunter performed well. She played in all 6 games winning 3, halving 1 and losing 2.

Midlothian win the County Finals
In the County Finals at Hilton Park Golf Club Midlothian won all their Matches to win the trophy. North won 2 matches to finish second and win the FJ Morison Cup. Renfrewshire with 1 match win finished third and Dumfriesshire fourth.

Kennedy Salver completed in spite of heavy showers
This year's Junior Inter County matches for the Kennedy Salver was played at Airdrie GC yesterday. In spite of some extremely heavy showers in the afternoon the course held up very well and the girls stoically played on with good humour.
Many congratulations to the winners, Dunbarton and Argyll. Two of our Lanarkshire girls played in the D&A team.

Inter County Foursomes Final
Ayrshire hosted the Inter County Foursomes final this year at Ballochmyle Golf Club on a beautiful sunny day on Monday..
Many of the ladies hadn't played the course before and found it to be quite trick however there were some excellent scores.

Megan reaches semi final of Scottish Women's Championship
Megan Docherty played in the Scottish Women's Championship at Ladybank GC this weekend. She narrowly qualified for the Championship on Friday with rounds of 82, 73. In the first round of matchplay she beat the leading qualifier, Lorna McClymont, 2&1 and Penelope Brown 3&2 in the quarter final to reach the semi final where she lost to the eventual champion Carmen Griffiths who was in excellent form throughout the competition.

Ruth Retains West Vets Championship
Many congratulations to Ruth Hunter who on Thursday at Renfrew Golf Club won the West Vets Championship for a second year in a row.
It was a closely fought final with Ruth beating Gillian Kyle with the last putt on the last green.

Good weather for first Spoon competition.
Congratulations to vice captain Deirdre Anderson, Dullatur, on winning the May Spoon division one with a net 68 at Easter Moffat yesterday and to scratch winner Fiona Norris, Hamilton, with a gross 78.

Championship Final was of a high standard
Yesterday's Championship final was very closely fought and the golf was very good to watch.
Susan Woodhouse made a good start with birdies at the 1st, 3rd and 4th holes to go 3 up. Kirsten Brown then fought back with birdies at 6,7,9,10 and 11 and went 1 up at 12. Susan who also birdied hole 7 then won 13 and 15 with a par and a birdie to go 1 up and halved the remaining holes to win at 18.

Bronze Championship Final
In yesterday's well fought yet friendly Bronze Championship Final between Anne Armstrong, Hayston, and Ann Houston, Cambuslang, Anne Armstrong was the winner of the Bronze Lady Trophy.

The West of Scotland Close Championship will take place at Milngavie GC on Sunday 7th May. Closing date 29th April.
This is an 18 hole competition open to all members of a County Association in the West of Scotland with a maximum handicap index of 20.4..

Winners of Winter Greensomes Decided
As the scheduled venue, Drumpellier Golf Course, for today's Winter Greensomes Final was closed this morning due to heavy overnight rain the all Strathaven Final was played at Strathaven Golf Club this afternoon. Conditions were not ideal so well done in getting it played.
In a very close match Christine Paterson and Lyn Feeley beat Susan Halley and Linda Syme 2&1. Congratulations Christine and Lyn and well done to Susan and Linda on doing so well in the competition.
