In the final of the Championship this afternoon in very cold damp conditions at Bothwell Castle Golf Club May Hughes defeated Jenny Potter 2&1. In a close match Jenny was 2 up after 4 but May levelled the match after 6. May went 1 up at the 12th but Jenny levelled at the 13th. May then took the lead again at the 14th and went 2 up with a birdie at the 16th and closed out the match at the 17th.
The Bronze Championship Final this morning was a very close competition between two friends, Elaine Johnstone and Pauline Super. The lead changed a number of times and was finally decided when Elaine sank a long putt for a birdie at the 19th.
