Pamela named in several Scottish Teams
Pamela Pretswell has been named to represent Scotland in the team at the St Rule Trophy at St Andrews on 30-31 May, the Ladies British Open at Royal St David's GC on 9-13 June and at the Irish Ladies open Amateur Championship at Douglas Park GC, Cork from 20-21 June.

Clare makes the cut in the German Open
Clare Queen has a level par total of 144 after a second round score of 75 today to make the cut which is expected to be at 146.

Clare has good start in German Open
Clare Queen had a 3 under par 69 in the first round of the German Open at Golfpark Gut Hausern to lie tied in 10th place, 4 strokes behind the leader Johanna Westerberg of Sweden.
Scottish Championship Match Play Results
In the first round Pamela Pretswell defeated Diane MacDonald 5&4, Susan Wood lost to Lesley Atkins 2&1 and Elaine Cuthill lost to Elaine Moffat 2&1.
Unfortunately in the 2nd round Pamela lost to Carol Wilson 3&2.

At last night's prizegiving Pamela was presnted with the Glover 21st Anniversary Cup for lowest gross score in the second round, Margaret Scouler Buchanan Cup for best aggregate gross, St Rule Salver for best gross score by an Under-21 and Beddows Memorial Trophy for lowest gross score in the second qualifying round.

Lanarkshire win the Kathleen McNeil Trophy
Lanarkshire are the first winners of the new Kathleen McNeil Trophy county team competition, staged in conjunction with the stroke-play qualifying rounds of the 95th Scottish women's amateur championship at Southerness. Susan Wood (Drumpellier), Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle) and Elaine Cuthill (Lanark) topped the county team returns with a total of 308.
Congratulations girls.
In the first round of the Match play tomorrow Pamela will play Diane MacDonald( Dumfries and County), Susan plays Lesley Atkins( Minto) and Elaine plays Elaine Moffat(St Regulus).
Pamela is Leading Qualifier in Scottish
Pamela Pretswell is the leading qualifier by 3 strokes from Kylie Walker at Southerness after a 1 under par round of 72 today. She again started badly with bogies at the first 3 holes but again recovered with an eagle, this time at the 9th, and birdies at the 8th, 13th, 16th and 18th. Congratulations Pamela.
Elaine Cuthill, in 12th place, and Susan Wood ,in20th place, also qualified for the match play tomorrow. Well done girls. The team should also have done well.

Pamela leads after 1st Round of Scottish Championship
Pamela Pretswell leads by 1 stroke from Kylie Walker of Buchanan Castle and by 2 from Kelsey Macdonald of Nairn Dunbar and Ailsa Summers of Carnoustie ladies after the first round of the Scottish Championship at Southerness GC. Pamela started badly with a triple bogey 7 at the first and was 10 over after 8 but she then had birdies at 9,10,12,13,14 & 18 and an eagle at the 16th to finish on a 3 over 76.
Elaine Cuthill was tied for 10th with a 7 over 80 while Susan Wood had an 82.
My apologies to Bobbi Waugh whom I omitted from the list of Lanarkshire members competing in the Championship in the previous post.

Scottish Ladies Close Amateur Championship
The Scottish begins tomorrow at Southerness Golf Club. The Lanarkshire members competing and their first round tee off times are: Elaine Cuthill (8.40am), Susan Wood (9.20am) and Pamela Pretswell(10.30am). They are also the members of the Lanarkshire Team who will compete for the McNeil Trophy which is being awarded for the first time to the County Team returning the lowest aggregate scratch score in the 2 Qualifying rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday with the 2 best scores counting each day. We wish the girls well.

Lanarkshire Success in Inter County Foursomes Finals
The course was in magnificent condition. With the sun shining and very windy the course played even longer than its 6022 yards. The ladies found it a tough challenge. However, Lesley Lloyd and Fiona Scott representing Lanarkshire scored 39 each way to win the Scratch Award with a 78.In the handicap event the qualifiers found it even more difficult with the winners being Dorothy Woodger and Maida Grant (D&A) with a net 83.5

Times available for Strathaven Golf Club Open Day
Times are still available for Strathaven Golf Club Ladies Open Day on Thursday 11th June. Times are available from 8.00am to 5.30pm. You may enter singly or in pairs. It is a medal round with scratch and handicap prizes being awarded in both silver and bronze divisions. Times are being allocated on a first come first served basis. West Vets Championship
The Quarter Finals of the West Vets Championship were played over Renfrew G C this morning. Unfortunately May Hughes who is the present holder had to withdraw due to illness. In one match Janice Paterson (Drumpellier) defeated Pat Hutton (Lanark) 1 up. The semi finals this afternoon were abandoned after 4 holes due to flooding and will be played tomorrow when Janice will play Helen Faulds.

Pamela is West of Scotland Champion
Pamela Pretswell ( Bothwell Castle) had a second level par round of 74 at Prestwick Golf Club this afternoon to win the West of Scotland Championship by 4 shots from Sara Bishop (D&A). Well done Pamela. Susan Wood was in equal third place with rounds of 78 and 80.

Pamela leads after first round of West Championship
Pamela Pretswell is in the lead by 2 shots after the first round of the West of Scotland Championship at Prestwick Golf Club with a level par round of 74. She was 4 over after 9 but was 4 under for the inward half. The Lanarkshire team of Pamela, Susan Wood( 78 )and Lesley Lloyd(81) is also leading after the first round.
