Congratulations to County Champion and other Priewinners

 Congratulations to Susan Woodhouse, County Champion 2025. In a high quality closely fought Championship Final today Susan beat  fellow East Kilbride member Kirsten Brown 2&1.

Championship Results

Congratulations to  Leading Qualifier Kirsten Brown, East Kilbride GC winning the Scratch with an excellent score of.74 beating her club mate Susan Woodhouse by 2 shots. Leading Silver  Net score for 2025 is Ellie McManus of Airdrie GC who returned a net 70 narrowly beating Mari Scott of Strathaven GC by one shot.

Leading Qualifier in the Bronze Section  was Janet Leiper, Strathaven, with 99 one shot better than Christine Paterson and Anne Cameron, both Strathaven,

The best net sore in Bronze was an excellent 69 by Carol Saunders Strathaven.  Carol with the best net score in either division has won the Centenary Trophy.

Good luck to those playing in the Helen Holm

 The Helen Holm Championship will take place from 18 to 20 April. On Friday and Saturday 120 will Compete on  Troon Portland. There will then be a cut and the 60 with the best gross scores will play on Royal Troon on Sunday. 

The following members of the Lanarkshire team are competing: Kirsten Brown, Leah Bryce, Jodie Graham , Katie Graham and Susan Woodhouse. Play well, good luck and enjoy girls.

 A large number of members and friends thoroughly enjoyed our successful Coffee Morning at East Kilbride Golf Club today.

Thank you to East Kilbride for the use of their Clubhouse and also Country Bake, Strathaven ,and some of our members for the delicious food.

Sad Announcement


I am sad to announce the death this morning of Jean Hamilton, a long time member of the County.

Jean was a life member and past Lady Captain of Strathaven Golf Club 

She was a former member of the  LLCGA Committee and when able  regularly participated in competitions and was a strong supporter of other activities including the Jamboree.

At this afternoon's AGM and Prizegiving the new captain, Fiona Norris, and new President, Shena Boyd, were appointed.

Prizes were presented, a successful raffle was held for funds and scones and cakes were enjoyed. Some dates for your diary Coffee Morning 22 February at EK GC, Championship Qualifying 22 April, Cathkinbraes, West Championship 18 May Cathcart Castle and Jamboree 9-11 June Milngavie.

Thank you once again to Cambuslang GC for the use of their clubhouse.

Congratulations to Midlothian on Winning the County Finals

 In a close match  Midlothian  beat Lanarkshire 5- 4 to earn a full 3 competition  points and to win  the County Championship Trophy and gold medals.

Lanarkshire finished on 1.5 points as did North but Lanarkshire won more games  and so they finished second and won silver medals and the FJ Morison Trophy. Very well done girls.
