Ayrshire CGA are hosting the West of Scotland closed championship at Glasgow Gailes GC on Sunday 8th May 2022 from 10.30AM.

Handicap Limit: No greater than a handicap index of 20.4.

Entry Fee: £10, payable by cheque or BACS transfer ( information will be sent to entrants).

Winners of Winter Foursomes Decided

At a wet and windy Airdrie Golf Club today Marie Kirk & Jennifer Wiles defeated Liz Lees and Deirdrie Anderson 3&2 in this year's Winter Foursomes Final. Well done all for braving the elements and Congratulations to Marie and Jennifer.

Entry Forms for Championship and Bronze Championships

The links to the online entry forms for the Championship and Bronze Championship at Drumpellier Golf Club on 25th April are now on the sidebar. Entries close on 16th March.

Both Championships are scratch competitions. The Centenary Trophy is awarded for the best net score in the Championship or Bronze Championship qualifying round.

Entrants for the Bronze Championship must have a handicap index of 20.5 or above,

Enjoyable Coffee Morning to start the new season

It was nice that our season this year could start with our annual Coffee Morning which took place at Hamilton Golf Club today. It was good to catch up with everyone, some after two years. As always the food from Country Bake at Strathaven Rural Centre, was delicious and the raffle prices worth winning. Thank you to all those who donated prizes. Thank you also to Hamilton Golf Club for hosting and to Captain Anne and the committee for organising.

Many congratulations to Jodie Graham, Hamilton GC, who has been selected to represent Scotland at the Girls' Quadrangular Matches in Wales from 10-14 April 2022.

 

Open Day Tri Am

 

This is an 18-hole Tri-Am competition with a maximum course handicap of 36.

 Playing handicap is 85% of course handicap The entry fee is £33 per team.

Winter Foursomes Reach the Final

 In a very close second semi final Liz Lees and Deirdre Anderson beat Pauline Warlow and Carol McKinnon at the 18th.

 In the first semi final of the Winter Foursomes Marie Kirk and Jennifer Wiles., Drumpellier, beat Anne Cameron and Susan Halley, Strathaven.

 

Funeral Arrangements

 Jean Houston's funeral will take place at South Lanarkshire Crematorium on Tuesday 21st December at 2 PM.

In a close match in fairly appalling weather at Dullatur yesterday Deirdrie Anderson and Liz Lees beat Jo Clark and Katy Burden at the 17th. 

The competition is now at the semi final stage.

Sad News

 It is with much sadness that I report the death on Thursday morning of Jean Houston, a member of East Kilbride Golf Club since 1980.

Jean was an active member of the County for many years and a former member of the committee.

She has been resident in a care home for a few years.

Information about  funeral arrangements will follow later.
