The tournament is the result of a collaboration between Scottish Golf and the Georgia State Golf Association designed to offer a new competitive opportunity for junior golfers on both sides of the pond.

Taking place this year at East Lake Golf Club and due to be staged in Scotland in 2027, the Kiltie Cup will pit four boys and four girls from each side against the other in Ryder Cup-style fourball, foursomes and singles matches.

The international team match is named after Stewart “Kiltie” Maiden, born in Carnoustie, and a member of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame
