Good luck Jodie
Jodie Graham is a member of the Scottish Team along with Abigail May and Carly McDonald competing in the Junior Golf World Championships at ST Catharines Golf and Country Club St Catharines Ontario Canada from 17 Sept.
In total, 23 teams (22 countries + 2 teams from hosts Canada) will battle for the team championship while also competing for individual honours, with the individual champion earning an exemption into the 2026 CPKC Women’s Open, taking place at Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton, Alta., August 17-23, 2026.

I am sad to report the passing of Dorothy Loudon a long time member of the County until she had to give up golf due to ill health just over two years ago.

Abigail and Katie
The St Andrews Junior Ladies’ Open takes place on the Strathtyrum Course and the Eden Course with the scratch semi-finals and the finals played over the Old Course. The scratch winner of the 18-hole qualifying and match play competition is awarded the Golf Monthly Trophy and the handicap winner is presented with the Girls’ Open Quaich.
🥇 Abigail McCafferty of Airdrie Golf Club won the Girls’ Open Quaich (2 up Vs Mia Clarissa Schmid of Switzerland)
🏆Katie Graham of Hamilton Golf Club was runner-up in the Golf Monthly Trophy Final (just missing out to Xinyi Gu of Spain - 2&1). Katie was also Lead Qualifier, with an impressive even-par 71 in the qualifying round to top the leaderboard.

Team for County finals
The following team will represent Lanarkshire at the County Finals at Alyth GC from 29-31 August :
Kirsten Brown, Leah Bryce, Jodie Graham, Katie Graham, Rachel Neil, Eva O'Connor, Susan Wood and Susan Woodhouse.
They are competing against Dumfries, Midlothian and Northern Counties.

Men and Women's Home Internationals Day 3
Scotland’s Home Internationals campaign ended with a tight match against Ireland that came down to the wire.
In the end, the team in green edged it in the combined event by 11-10.
The individual events were just as competitive over the Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa.
Scotland’s women showed spirit to fight back from a 2.5-0.5 deficit from the morning foursomes to dominate the singles 4-2 and claim a deserved halved match.
Scotland’s men were hoping to follow up on yesterday’s win against Wales, but fell just short.
Ireland took the spoils 6.5-5.5.

Men and Women’s Homes Day 2
Today Scotland’s mixed team lost narrowly 11-10 to Wales.
The Men’s team won 7.5-4.5 while the Women’s team lost 6.5-2.5.

Senior Women’s Jamboree
Scotland have won the Miller Stirling Salver today at Kilmarnock Barassie Golf Club. Although they lost their last match against the North their fantastic play throughout the 3 days ensured a long awaited victory.
Day 3 of Boys and Girls Home Internationals
On the third day of the boys and girls Home Internationals Scotland lost 13 -8 to England but the boys’ team beat England 7.5-4.5.
In the overall standings the mixed team finished 2nd after England.

England outplay Scotland
On day1 of the Men and Women's Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa Scotland lost 13-8 to England and Wales and Ireland had a half match 10.5-10.5.

Boys’ and Girls’ Home Internationals - Day 2
Another brilliant win for our juniors - taking down Wales 15-6 to follow on from a day one victory over Ireland.
That means one thing in the combined event…..a winner takes all final day showdown against England tomorrow!
After securing the morning foursomes session 5.5-1.5, the team kicked on in the singles.
The after.5-4.5 to set up the Auld Enemy match-up.
Another great team effort with a special shout out to our ‘double pointers’ - Erin Huskie, Jodie Graham, Carly McDonald, Jamie McDonald and Kiron Gribble!
As well as having a chance to win the joint trophy, the boys have two wins out of two in their section and top the table.
The girls could still win their individual event if they win by five points against England.

Scottish Seniors make good start in Jamboree
On Day 1 in the Senior Jamboree at Kilmarnock Barassie GC the Scottish Senior Women's Golf
Association team beat the South of England 21/2-1/2 and the singles 31/2-21/2 and so 6- 3
Men and Women play England tomorrow
The Men and Women's Scottish Teams play England tomorrow in the Home Internationals at Woodhall Spa tomorrow. We wish them well.
Boys and Girls Squads make good start in Home Internationals
OOn day1 of the Boys and girls Home Internationals in Cork Scotland beat Ireland 11-10. They lost the morning foursomes 4-3 but won the afternoon singles 8-6.

Susan and Jodie selected to play for Scotland
Congratulations to Susan Woodhouse and Jodie Graham on their well-deserved selection to represent Scotland in the upcoming Home Internationals.
Susan will be competing as part of the Women’s National Team at Woodhall Spa Golf Club in England (August 6–8), while Jodie will represent the Girls’ Team at Cork Golf Club in Ireland (August 5-7)

Congratulations Jodie
Jodie Graham has been selected to represent Scotland at the inaugural Kiltie Cup this week at East Lake in Georgia 🏴 🇺🇸A
The tournament is the result of a collaboration between Scottish Golf and the Georgia State Golf Association designed to offer a new competitive opportunity for junior golfers on both sides of the pond.
Taking place this year at East Lake Golf Club and due to be staged in Scotland in 2027, the Kiltie Cup will pit four boys and four girls from each side against the other in Ryder Cup-style fourball, foursomes and singles matches.
The international team match is named after Stewart “Kiltie” Maiden, born in Carnoustie, and a member of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame

Scottish Girls Championship News
In the Scottish Girls Strokeplay Championship first round at the Kings Course, Inverness, Jodie Graham along with 2 others, Abigail May and Melissa Kray shot a course record 67 (-5).
Jodie qualified for the Matchplay but lost in the quarter final by 1 hole.
Hannah Sneddon had the best net score in the Strokeplay Championship and so qualified for the Net Matchplay Championship as did Millie Lauchlan. Hannah has reached tomorrow's semi final. We ll done and all the best for tomorrow.

Results of European Team Championship
In the European Team Championship the Scottish Ladies' Team finished second in Flight C They beat Finland, halved with Poland and lost to Slovenia.
The Scottish Girls Team finished 3rd in flight B. They beat Norway and Belgium but lost to Austria.
Spain were the winners of both the Ladies 'and girls' Championships.

The Finals of the West Inter County Foursomes were held today at Strathaven Golf Club. Conditions were difficult with strong winds and some heavy showers but the condition of the course gained many compliments.

Dunbartonshire and Argyll win the Kennedy Salver
At Ballochmyle GC on Monday some very good golf was played in the Junior Inter County Matches. Dunbartonshire and Argyll won by 1/2 a point from Renfrewshire and Lanarkshire.

Lanarkshire are West of Scotland County Champions
On the final day of the Inter County Matches at Milngavie GC Lanarkshire beat Dunbarton and Argyll to gain a perfect 6 points and to win the Championship Salver. Renfrewshire were runners up with 4 points.
They now qualify to play in the Scottish County Finals at Alyth GC from 29-31 August,

Susan is the Scottish Women’s Champion
Susan Woodhouse won the final this afternoon by beating Freya Russell 1 up. Massive congratulations Susan. Both players played spme fantastic golf in 35mph winds/
She was 2 up after 15 but lost the 16th and 17th but won with a birdie on the 18th.
She’s in the final
Susan Woodhouse won her semi final match at the 19th. She was 1 up for most of the match but lost the 17th.

Jodie Graham was very unfortunate to lose her match against Kaci Robertson at the 21st.

Many Congratulations to Eva
Many congratulations to Eva O’Connor in winning the West of Scotland Championship on a lovely day today at Cochrane Castle GC Lanarkshire players swept the board of scratch prizes. Eva (Bothwell Castle) had a great gross score of 73 BIH from Susan McGrenaghan (Hayston). Rachael Neil(Taylor) (Blairgowrie and Lanarkshire ) was third with 76 and Susan Woodhouse (East Kilbride) 4th with 77. The Lanarkshire team of Susan , Eva and Susan won the team prize.
The Handicap Trophy was won by Susan McGuire( Williamwood and Renfrewshire) with a net 69
