Lovely day for Rescheduled Autumn Meeting

Very lucky that in spite of yet more overnight rain the rescheduled Autumn Meeting was played in sunshine and the course at Strathaven GC was in good condition considering the very wet summer and autumn weather.

.
We also enjoyed a nice meal afterwards.
The winners with an excellent score of 76 (net 71.2) were Lesley Lloyd, Hayston, and May Hughes , Lanark.
Runners Up were local members, sisters  Marie Scott and Agnes McCall with a net 74.4. 

Winter Foursomes Results

Yesterday on a lovely autumn evening, before the rain arrived,  Jean Maddock and Edna Taylor, Wishaw, beat Taylor White , Cathkin Braes, and Susan Woodhouse, East Kilbride, 2 and 1, Jean said that the girls were a pleasure to play with. 

Due to injury Marion Brodie and Francis Stobo have conceded their match to Karen Ward and Enid King, East Kilbride.

Also due to injury Irene Cooper has changed her partner. She is now playing with Anne Clark.

Scottish Senior Ladies win Flight B

In the flight B final of the Senior Ladies European Team Championships in Slovakia Scotland beat Italy 4-1.
Lesley Lloyd and Frances Millar beat Elisa Tirante and Carlotta Borini 2 and 1
Gillian Kyle halved with Francesco Christillin
Lorna McKinlay beat Guenda Maevero 3 and 2
Sheena Wood beat Emanuela Gumiroto 3 and 2

In Flight A France beat England 3.5-1.5 and so won the Championships

Another good win for Scottish Seniors

In the European Senior Team Championships today Scotland beat Finland 4,5 to 0.5. Tomorrow in the Final of Flight B Scotland play Italy.

Autumn Meeting to Go Ahead

The rescheduled Autumn Meeting will take place on Friday 29th September  from 10am at Strathaven GC.

Scotland have win against Iceland

In the Senior Ladies European Championships Flight B today in Slovakia Scotland beat Iceland 4-1 with wins for Lorna McKinlay, Sheena Wood and Gillian Kyle and half matches by Lesley Lloyd and Frances Millar.

Czech Republic beat Switzerland 3-2

Finland beat Austria 3-1

Tomorrow in the semi final Scotland play Finland.

Scottish Seniors Qualify for Flight B

Scotland Seniors finished in 10th place in the European Seniors Team Championships in Slovakia today. England finished 1st with a total score of 744 - (best 5 scores to count each day) , Ireland on 757 and Scotland on 773.
In flight B tomorrow Scotland play Iceland.

European Senior Ladies Team Championships start tomorrow

5 - 9 September - Golf Resort Skalica, Slovakia 

Two rounds of qualifying on the opening days will be followed by 3 days of matchplay to decide who will be crowned the 2017 European Senior Ladies Team Champions.
