Competitors wanted for Junior Team Championship

Calling anyone involved with junior golf we are really low on entries for this great event. It offers a great learning environment with some of the countries top coaches in the form of Mark Loftus, Dean Robertson & Stewart Savage, free food, prizes and entry fee. The event is in serious jeopardy of being cancelled . There must be hundreds of local golfers looking for a game? Under 14,16 & 18 age categories 36 handicap limit. Pro@thecounty.co.uk for entries.
Format is stableford- teams of 3, 2 to count. You can enter on your own and you will be placed in a team.

At Lochview in Coatbridge they are starting a girls only class for golf.
The girls only class is on Wednesdays at 7pm starting on Wednesday 6 September.
A six week block costs £24.

It's a win for the Scotland Teams against Wales

Both the Scottish Girls and the Scottish Ladies Teams beat Wales 6.5-2.5 today in the Home Internationals at Little Aston.
Molly Richmond again won her Foursomes match. She did not play this afternoon.
England Girls beat Ireland 6.5-2.5 to end with 3 wins. Ireland were second with 2 wins and Scotland finished third with 1 win with Wales  fourth..
In the Ladies International Ireland finished first after beating England 5-4 today. England with 2 wins finished second and Scotland with 1 win finished third with Wales fourth.

Scottish Seniors lose 7-2 to England South

At the Senior Jamboree at Ffilford Heath G C today Scotland had 1 win in the Foursomes from Frances Miller and Jennifer Bryans and a win in the singles by Fiona De Fries. Lesley Lloyd did not play in the afternoon.
Midlands won the Miller Stirling Salver with 2 points and 16.5 games.
North were runners up with 2 points and 16 games followed by South with 1 point and 13.5 games.
Scotland had 0 points and 8 games.

Scotland Teams lose to England


The Scottish girls lost to England 7-2. Molly Richmond won her foursomes match but lost her singles match by 1 hole.
The Ladies team lost 5.5-3.5.

Well done Susan

Susan Woodhouse finished second in the St Andrews Schoolgirls Championship with rounds of 75,67 and 80.
Kirsten Brown finished third with rounds of 83, 71 and 79.
Taylor White finished 9th with rounds of 82,76 and 93.
The Championship was won by Lorna McClymont with rounds of 73,70,75.
In the stableford competition Jodie Graham finished 6th with rounds of 34,39,35.

Susan Woodhouse is in second place

After the first round of the St Andrews Schoolgirls Championship for girls with handicaps 12 and under Susan Woodhouse is in second place with a gross 75, 2 strokes behind the leader Lorna McClymont.

The final round takes place tomorrow.
For those with handicaps between 12 and 24 there is a stableford competition. 
Jodie Graham had 34 points in the first round and is in 8th place in that competition.

Tri Am Results

We were very fortunate to complete the Tri Am competition today at Cambuslang Golf Club without having to wear waterproofs. The course was in very good condition showing little  sign of  the wet weather we have endured recently. 

The winners with a score of 66 were Etta Buchanan, East Kilbride, Esther Lillie, Carluke, and Susan Halley, Strathaven,
The runners up with a score of 67 were Ray Wilson, Carluke, Marion Craig, Strathaven, and Marie Hamilton, Dullatur.

Well done Kirsten

Kirsten Brown, the leading qualifier in the St Andrews Junior Open with a gross 68 has now reached the quarter final after beating Susan Woodhouse by 1 hole.
She now plays Eloise Healey of West Lancashire tomorrow. 
Good luck Kirsten.
Unfortunately Kirsten lost in the quarter final.
