Scotland lost 5-0 to Ireland in the Senior Home International Matches at Elm Park Golf and Sport Club, Dublin, today.Tomorrow Scotland play England.
Wales and England had a half match today

 In first round matches Ann Roulston and Sheila Sergenson beat Lesley Neill and Elaine Sinclair at the 18th at Hamilton GC  . Also at the 18th Lynne Williamson and Irene Morton beat Karen Ward and Enid King.

Lesley just fails to reach final of Scottish Vets Championship

In the semi-final of the Scottish Vets Championship at Blairgowrie today Lesley Lloyd, West Champion, lost at the 20th to Fiona De Vries, East Champion,  who in turn lost to Sheena Wood, Northern Champion, 5&4, in the final.
In the first round Lesley beat Margaret Davidson, Dumfriesshire, 5&4.

Angus win the County Finals

In the deciding match of the County Finals Angus beat Midlothian 51/2-31/2. After the morning foursomes the two teams were level in matches and in games won.
In the other match Ayrshire beat Dumfriesshire 5-4 to finish third.

It's a win for English Schools

At Troon Darnley today the Scottish Schools team, including Molly Richmond, lost narrowly to English Schools 5-4.

Death of Former County Member

The death occurred on Friday of Beatrice Howieson a former member of Cawder GC and of Lanarkshire. Beatrice who was in her early nineties had been in a Nursing Home for the last 4 or 5 years but in the past was a very active county member and was a regular caddy for the team. She also did much for Junior Golf especially as President of the West of Scotland Girls Association.
Her funeral will take place on Thursday at Maryhill Crematorium. 

Kirsten wins West of Scotland Championship





Congratulations to Kirsten Brown, Strathaven, who won the West of Scotland Championship at Cawder Golf Club today and to all the other prizewinners. Kirsten had a gross 76, BIH from Susan McGrenaghan, Mount Ellen BL6 from Anne Laing, Troon Ladies

Susan McGrenaghan won the handicap Salver with a net 71. Lorna McClymont , Milngavie, won the handicap voucher with a net 74. Fiona Rattray, Douglas Park, won the Junior handicap prize with a net 77

The Lanarkshire team of Lesley Lloyd, Susan McGrenaghan and Susan Wood won the Team Trophy (76,78) while the Junior Team Trophy was won by the D&A team of Lori MacDonald, Fiona Rattray and Lorna McClymont (Net 74,77). ...

Scotland Seniors are Second Flight winners

Many congratulations to the Scotland Senior Ladies team who beat the Netherlands 3.5-1.5 to finish winners of the second flight of the European Team Championships in Lithuania and 9th overall. Lesley won her match 3&2. She played well and has thoroughly enjoyed her week.

Scotland Senior Team in final of second flight

Today in Lithuania Scotland beat Italy 3.5-1.5 with Lesley Lloyd scoring the winning point. Tomorrow they play the Netherlands in the final of the second flight of the European Team Championships. Well done and good luck for tomorrow.

Scottish Senior Team have a win against Austria

In the European Senior Team Championships in Lithuania Scotland  beat Austria 4-1 today in the first matchplay round of the second flight. Lesley Lloyd's match was all square when the team had won 3 matches so under the rules this was declared a half match. Lesley thought this was fair and enjoyed her match against a very nice opponent.
Tomorrow they play Italy.
Congratulations to Joan Anderson and Margaret Marshall who won the Commonwealth Spoons at a sunny Bothwell Castle GC today.
46 couples representing all 15 Scottish Counties took part. Joan and Margaret had an excellent score of 69-5.

Scotland finish 12th

After the strokeplay rounds in the European Senior Team Championships in Lithuania Scotland finished 12th and so will compete in the second flight of the matchplay.
Tomorrow Scotland will play 13th placed Austria.

1st Qualifying round of European Senior team Championship not yet completed

In Lithuania there was a long suspension of play due to thunder and lightning so first round is not yet complete. Scotland are in 13th place but some countries have still to complete their rounds.
Sheena Wood was Scotlands top scorer with a 76 followed by Lesley Lloyd and Lorna McKinlay with 83. Alison Bartlett and Fiona Devries bith had 86. Gillian Kyle had 88.
The best score was 72 by Christine Mouhica of France.
The top 8 teams after the two qualifying rounds qualify for the top flight of the matchplay stages.
