Another lovely day for LLCGA Competition

All at the Autumn Meeting today enjoyed the sunshine, the Hayston Course and the good food before and after.

Local knowledge proved to be an advantage with winners being Anne Sillars and Jan McMillan, both Hayston, and runners up Shirley Dalrymple, Hayston, and Dawn Warnock, Bothwell Castle.

Great Weather for Rescheduled Blackjack Cup

At last we had a lovely warm sunny day for a competition this year, a complete contrast to the original day, for the rescheduled Blackjack Cup at Colville Park Golf Club which was in very good condition.
The cup was won by Marion Brodie, Strathaven, with Shirley Dalrymple, Hayston, runner up.

Good scoring in Morison Cup

The rescheduled F J Morison Cup was played today at Strathaven Golf Club. Unfortunately not many were able to play but the scoring from those who did was very good.

Molly Richmond and Kirsten Brown tied on a 36 hole total of 154, Molly winning by the better last round. Molly also won the handicap prize.

The first round also counted towards the Junior Championship. Kirsten won the Junior Scratch Cup while Molly won the Championship Handicap Salver.

Veteran Ladies Golf Association Jamboree

The Jamboree took place last week at Sherwood Forest Golf Club. This involved teams from Scotland, North of England, England Midlands and South of England.
Lesley Lloyd was a member of the Scottish Team.

Molly Richmond performed very well in her first International. Yesterday she fought back from 2 down after 15 , winning the 16th and 17th and halfing the last to secure a half match with her English opponent to secure a half match, She hit her second shot to the par four 16th to  a foot from the pin and today did the same with her tee shot at the par 3 18th to secure a half match with her Welsh opponent.. 

I apologise for not keeping the website up to date during the week but I was kept busy refereeing at these matches.

On Wednesday England defeated Wales 8-1 while Ireland beat Scotland 6-3.
On Thursday England beat Scotland 5.5- 3.5 and Ireland beat Wales 7-2. 

Nice Weather for Tri Am Today

The winners of the Tri Am held at Cambuslang Golf Club today were Lynn Porter, Pam Rice and Winnie Cossar with 67.

Barbara Livingstone, Margaret Porteous and Enid King were second with 69.
