Death of Associate Member Ellen McCormack

I am sorry to announce that the death occurred last week of Ellen McCormack of Bishopbriggs. Her funeral was on Friday of last week.

Ellen was in the past a member of Cawder Golf Club but has not been able to play golf for many years. When she did she supported county events and anything her sister, past captain Betty McCormack, was involved in.

We send our sympathy to Betty who, like Ellen , has been  resident in a nursing home for a number of years. 

Attention Junior Girls

SLGA are running a free coaching and play day for under 18 girl golfers with or without a handicap at 6 locations around Scotland in April. The event in this area is on 8th April at  Whitecraigs Golf Club. This will be run by SLGA Professional coach, Ian Muir.

Girls who are current members of the Scottish Golf Academy are not eligible for these events.

Winter Foursomes concluded on spring- like day

The final of the Winter Foursomes took place today at a sunny Hamilton GC with Irene Morton and Lynne Williamson winning 3 &2 against Pauline Warlow and Carol McKinnon. The match was played in good Spirits with Irene's putting being the difference between the pairs.

Coffee Morning Reminder

The fundraising coffee morning, open to members and friends, is being held at Strathaven Golf Club on Saturday 7th March at 10.30am.

This is a chance to meet up with friends before the start of the season while enjoying tasty baking.

A raffle, in which you can choose which prize or prizes you wish to win, will be held.

Tickets, Price £5, can be purchased from committee members. If you are unable to obtain a ticket from a committee member you can apply for tickets by clicking on the link below and paying for them on the morning. This will help to give us an idea of the numbers to cater for.

Kirsten and Molly play well in Academy Winter series

Congratulations to KIrsten Brown who finished 2nd with 36 stableford points in the SLGA/SGU  Academy Winter Series on hard ground at Panmure Golf Club yesterday. Molly Richmond finished with 26 points.
