Death of Honorary Member Freda Davidson in Canada

I regret to announce the death of Honorary Member and Past Captain, Freda Davidson on 9th November in Mount Hope, London, Ontario, aged 95.
Freda , a member and past captain of Strathaven Golf Club, was Captain of LLCGA from 1969-71 and Chairman of SLGA in 1975 and 1976.
She moved to Canada fairly soon after the death of her first husband, Dr Davidson of Stonehouse in 1979.
We send our sympathy to her husband, daughter, three sons and their families.

Change of Venue for Winter Training Today

The team squad had their winter training on a glorious Autumn day at Gleneagles golf club today. Six of the squad,( Lesley Lloyd, Emma Caddow, Susan Wood, Susan McGrenaghan, Rachel Cassidy and Kirsten Brown ) played a friendly match against Stirling University and won all three of their fourball matches. Ellie Bryce played for Stirling University.
The other members of the squad played fiercely contested matches against their fellow squad members.
Unfortunately due to the frost and lack of temporary greens  the tee off was delayed until the afternoon and so the matches had to be played over 9 holes. Never the less we all thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Thanks are due to our coach, Lesley Mackay, who organised the day.
