Pamela Pretswell, after a 1 over par round of 72, is in joint 15th position after the first qualifying round of the Spanish women's amateur international championship at El Valle GC, Murcia in the southeast of Spain today.
The leading 64 players after the second qualifying round go through to the match play stages.

Lesley Lloyd is the Curtis Cup Ambassador for Lanarkshire and she will keep us informed about the arrangements  for the match. Below is a reminder of the format.
The countdown has started with a vengeance towards the June 8-10 staging of the 37th Curtis Cup encounter at The Nairn Golf Club, – a biennial, eight-a-side three-day match between the best female amateur golfers in Great Britain & Ireland and their counterparts from the United States. GB & I last won the trophy at Killarney, Ireland in 1996 but last summer’s Astor Trophy success at Fairhaven GC, Lancashire, where skipper Tegwen Matthews’ team of five beat New Zealand, Canada, Australia and South Africa to win the once-every-four-years tournament, has raised hopes that the tide may turn in this year’s Curtis Cup match at Nairn.

Winter Foursomes Results

At East Kilbride GC today Pauline Warlow and Carol McKinnon defeated Ann Roulston and Enid King.

 In a close game at Drumpellier Hilda Everett and Margo Paterson defeated Jean Glass and Irene Cooper.
The winning couples are opponents in the semi finals.

On Saturday at Airdrie GC Anne Mungall and Marcia Stirling defeated Julie Kelly and Lesley Watson.   
At Drumpellier GC yesterday Jennifer Wiles and Joyce McGowan defeated Lesley Lloyd and Christine Main.
These two winning couples will now play each other in the semi finals.

 May Hughes has been selected to play for the Scottish Vets Team which will play for the Mary McKenna Trophy against an Irish Select Team at Hilton Templepatrick GC, Belfast on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th April 2012.

Clare Queen has made the cut in the Gold Coast RACV Australian Ladies Masters after rounds of 71 & 72 (par 72).

The leader is the reigning Us Women's Open Champion, So Yeon Ryu of South Korea who had rounds of 66 & 61.
