Advice for those playing in Sunday's Spoon at Crow Wood

Margaret Loughrey has sent this advice about the new roads and current roadworks around Crow Wood and the fact that people should leave themselves plenty of time if they are not familiar with the area.

People coming from Cumbernauld/Stirling direction via M80/A80 should come off at M73 slip road near Mollinsburn and follow the A80 signs (left just before the M73 and heavily coned!) which will bring them back onto A80 at Moodiesburn and in perfect position for accessing us. If they miss the M73/A80 sign they will end up on the new M80 bypass, in which case they need to continue beyond us to the Bishopbriggs slip road and then double back up the M80 to get to us. If this happens they will be coming in from Glasgow city centre on M80 as below.

Coming the other way on the M80 there is a brand new slip road signposted for Stepps/Muirhead just after Bishopbriggs slip. This brings you to the Crow Wood roundabout, where you go left and first left into our drive. The new slip road is easy to miss at the moment - if this happens you are stuck on M80 out to Westfield near Cumbernauld, which takes us back to the directions above lol.

Everyone coming via M73 to Gartcosh is unaffected, as are people coming M8 to Stepps.

All sounds very complicated, which it isn't really but can be very confusing if you don't know your way around this neck of the woods and we don't want ladies running about and down the M80 getting stressed, which has happened with plenty of our members never mind visitors these last few months!

Margaret is planning to be there early to make sure everything is set up for us and will be happy to have people call her if they are lost en route, her number is 07720 894302.
