Junior Training Day
11 girls attended a Junior Training Day at Lanark Golf Club yesterday. In the morning they received coaching from Alan White. In the afternoon the girls played the nine hole course for some match play experience along with some of the adult team members, namely Captain May Hughes, Vice Captain Lesley Lloyd and Ruth Rankin.
We were delighted to also have Clare Queen present. She spent some time out on the course with each group giving advice. This was followed by a chat and a photo session in the warmth of the clubhouse.

Centenary Dinner voted a success
The LLCGA Centenary Dinner , held in Kirkhill Golf Club last night proved to be most enjoyable for the 104 members who attended. The Centenary cake was cut by Honorary President, Margo Bauer. After Vice Captain Lesley Lloyd said grace a very tasty meal was enjoyed.
Captain May Hughes gave a most informative and amusing account of the History of LLCGA outlining the many successes of past and present members and teams.
Following a comfort break during which a number of items of memorabilia, including a DVD of old and not so old photographs, were on view Captain May gave a Captain's Lament in which she gave all the pitfalls of being captain of Lanarkshire particulaarly in the Centenary year but fortunately in the end she admitted that she was thoroughly enjoying it.
Immediate Past Captain Elizabeth Nelson then proposed a comprehensive vote of thanks in which in particular she thanked May and stated that she was an ideal person to be captain of Lanarkshire in the Centenary year.
Vice Captain Lesley Lloyd presented May, on behalf of everyone, with a bouquet of flowers and thanked her for all she had done so well on the evenining and as captain in the past year and a bit.
