Jean contributed much to golf at Club, County and National level.
She was Ladies Captain Of Strathaven Golf Club in 1966 and 2008, Ladies Champion 17 times and a member of the Park Trophy Team for many years. She continued to play into her nineties and was a member of the Birdies Choir until due to ill health she took up residence in a care home 3 years ago.
At County Level she was Captain of Lanarkshire Ladies from 1977-79 and President from 2003-2008. She was a member of the County Team for many years.
At Scottish level Jean was a former President of the Scottish Ladies Golf Association and an Honorary Vice President until amalgamation with SGU.
At British Level she was Chairman of the Ladies Golf Union and an Honorary Voce President  until its amalgamation with the R&A.
Jean was also a qualified R&A level 3 referee and acted as a rules official for over 30 years.
She was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. We send our sympathy to her sons John, Colin and Ronnie and their families.

Sad News

I am sad to report the passing of Dorothy Loudon a long time member of the County until she had to give up golf due to ill health just over two years ago.

Dorothy was a past Ladies Captain of Strathaven GC She very regularly played in County competitions and through the County made a number of close friends from other clubs.
We send our deepest sympathy to her husband, Jimmy and to all the members of her family.

The funeral will take place at South Lanarkshire Crematorium on Friday 26th September at 2PM.

Men and Women's Home Internationals Day 3

Scotland’s Home Internationals campaign ended with a tight match against Ireland that came down to the wire.

In the end, the team in green edged it in the combined event by 11-10.

The individual events were just as competitive over the Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa.

Scotland’s women showed spirit to fight back from a 2.5-0.5 deficit from the morning foursomes to dominate the singles 4-2 and claim a deserved halved match.

Scotland’s men were hoping to follow up on yesterday’s win against Wales, but fell just short.

Ireland took the spoils 6.5-5.5.
