Sad News

I am sad to report the passing of Dorothy Loudon a long time member of the County until she had to give up golf due to ill health just over two years ago.

Dorothy was a past Ladies Captain of Strathaven GC She very regularly played in County competitions and through the County made a number of close friends from other clubs.
We send our deepest sympathy to her husband, Jimmy and to all the members of her family.

The funeral will take place at South Lanarkshire Crematorium on Friday 26th September at 2PM.

Scotland’s Home Internationals campaign ended with a tight match against Ireland that came down to the wire.

In the end, the team in green edged it in the combined event by 11-10.

Scotland’s women showed spirit to fight back from a 2.5-0.5 deficit from the morning foursomes to dominate the singles 4-2 and claim a deserved halved match.

Scotland’s men were hoping to follow up on yesterday’s win against Wales, but fell just short.

Ireland took the spoils 6.5-5.5.

Another win For Scotland Boys and girla

Boys’ and Girls’ Home Internationals - Day 2

Another brilliant win for our juniors - taking down Wales 15-6 to follow on from a day one victory over Ireland.

That means one thing in the combined event…..a winner takes all final day showdown against England tomorrow!

After securing the morning foursomes session 5.5-1.5, the team kicked on in the singles.

The after.5-4.5 to set up the Auld Enemy match-up.

Another great team effort with a special shout out to our ‘double pointers’ - Erin Huskie, Jodie Graham, Carly McDonald, Jamie McDonald and Kiron Gribble!

As well as having a chance to win the joint trophy, the boys have two wins out of two in their section and top the table.

The girls could still win their individual event if they win by five points against England.

All to play for at Cork Golf Club
